One - dimensional image reconstruction by exponential filtering in infrared stellar speckle interferometry : application to IRC + 10216

چکیده
Exponential filtering, together with an improved version of the iterative Fourier-transform algorithm, is applied to image reconstruction from one-dimensional infrared stellar speckle interferometry data. The performance of the method is checked first by computer simulations with both noiseless and noisy data and then with a realistic simulation of one-dimensional infrared stellar speckle interferometry. We have seen no problems with convergence. The only problem that we found was an expected noisy appearance of the results when noisy data were simulated. Finally, the method was applied to observational specklegrams of the infrared source IRC +10216, in two standard photometric bands: K and M (2.2 and 5 m, respectively). The reconstruction in K of a north-south scan clearly shows three components inside a circumstellar shell. On the other hand, in the M band only a wing on the north side of the main component is resolvable.

THE RADIATIVE PATTERN AND ASYMMETRY OF IRC +10216 AT 11 m MEASURED WITH INTERFEROMETRY AND CLOSURE PHASE
The unusual source IRC +10216 is the brightest stellar object at mid-infrared wavelengths in the northern hemisphere. Adding to its distinctiveness, the dust around IRC +10216 almost completely enshrouds the star and has an extremely complex distribution. We report the imaging of IRC +10216 at 11.15 m with three telescopes and the closure phase at two different stellar phases. Three-baseline in...
متن کاملInfrared spectroscopic studies of hydrogenated silicon clusters - Guiding the search for Si2Hx species in the Circumstellar Envelope of IRC+10216
Silicon-bearing species Si2Hx (x = 1–6) are probable candidates in the circumstellar envelope of IRC+10216. We have observed several fundamentals of new silicon-containing radicals Si2H3 and Si2H5 in addition to the well-known Si2H4 and Si2H6 species from infrared spectroscopy in low temperature silane matrices at 10 K. Several infrared bands identify the Si2Hx species and can be used to search...

We present J, H and K band coronagraph images of the circumstellar envelope around IRC +10216 (CW Leo) obtained with a near infrared camera, CIAO and the 8.2 m Subaru telescope. A circular occulting mask of 2′′ in diameter was used to block out the light from the bright central object. The images show 2 collimated radial structures to the NNW andWNW, 2 fan-like structures to the S and NE, respe...
متن کاملMid-infrared interferometry on spectral lines: II. Continuum (dust) emission around IRC +10216 and VY CMa
The U. C. Berkeley Infrared Spatial Interferometer has measured the mid-infrared visibilities of the carbon star IRC +10216 and the red supergiant VY CMa. The dust shells around these sources have been previously shown to be time-variable, and these new data are used to probe the evolution of the dust shells on a decade time-scale, complementing contemporaneous studies at other wavelengths.
